The R.O.A.R. – Shes Out Of Control W/Remixes by ETC!ETC!, S.I.B and WRKD OUT NOW!

A born and raised rock junkie, The R.O.A.R. finds himself crossing the medium into the electronic realm. Straddling the line between Coachella and Ultra music Festival is where you will find the R.O.A.R., a live Artist/DJ that can cater to both types of crowds. Having paid his dues touring the world in a van, playing in underground PUNK BANDS, and performing on NATIONAL TV with his Electro-Rock combo The Fire and Reason, The R.O.A.R. has been building towards this perfect storm his whole life.

Returning to his rock roots, “She’s Out Of Control” has the kind of distorted electric bass line that most rock bands would kill for now a day. Not quick to leave behind his new mistress of electronic dance music, “She’s Out of Control” has the build up and drop structure you would find on your favorite dance floor.

“She’s Out Of Control” tells the tale of an amalgam of people. The listener is left to ponder will they just stand idly by and watch or will they stand and fight to help the person they care about. “She’s Out Of Control” is a twist on the bright lights big city tale, where a beautiful young soul is seduced by the smooth talking, money flashing “bigwigs” and slowly becomes what they may have hated in the beginning…

With remixes by the incredible ETC! ETC!, WRKD, and Sandwich Island Bass, each artist helps bring the song right back into the dance floor. Who says you can’t have meaningful, emotional, soulful club music that is a little more rock than meets the ear.

Ricky Vaughn – VLOG EPISODE 1 – WHO AM I?

Ricky Vaughn Presents – The Sazon Achives Volume 1

551356_530440350345684_1329389769_n

Now at the tender age of three and at a critical point in the genre’s development, one of moombahton’s most beloved producers has taken things to another level to keep the global sound’s winning ways alive. Formerly known as Mr. Vega of the now defunct Sazon Booya, the newly re-christened Ricky Vaughn is bringing the heat as he boldly prepares to take the reigns in the increasingly mainstreaming game of electronic dance music. Vaughn’s debut release, “The Sazon Archives” – not unlike his character namesake – is a major league compilation of sounds that is, indeed, a very wild thing.

While a member of Sazon Booya, Vaughn’s work as a production mastermind developed and evolved into one of moombahton’s signature sounds. Boisterious, sensual and large enough to overpower the underground and keep festivals like New York City’s Electric Daisy Carnival thirsting for more. The nine tracks included in this compilation reflect the passion that Vaughn has for the sound, as well as an idea of the depth and scope of his future plans. Aware of the issues surrounding the end of his previous partnership, the “Sazon Archives” is a bold step ahead into a future that remembers the incredible parties of the past while fully aware of the peak-hour mayhem to come.

Searing poly-rhythmic melodies combine with intense basslines meant to turn hips into pendulums on tracks like the hip-hop sampling “AutoCannonz” and bass bin destroyer with a hint of Latin flair “Raggaton Spice.” Names hot on the tongues of festival and EDM fanatics like ETC! ETC!, Kid Cedek and :DFACE alongside Vaughn’s frequent co-conspirators Otis Clapp and ATC make their presence known in top-shelf collaborative efforts. Furthermore, the trance-meets-rave style of an oft-mentioned moombahton don even gets an homage along the way on arena filler “Frillon Dancis.”

Just like the movie-icon baseball pitcher for which he’s named, with the “Sazon Archives,” Ricky Vaughn slams the door and seals the deal on not just the potential for excellence in moombahton’s future, but as to if his commitment to excellence and desire to maintain a spot at the forefront of global bass music’s most pop friendly revolution were in question. Bringing the heat with these jams with an expectation of many more wild things to come, Ricky Vaughn’s major league talent has arrived!

One of the most giving producers in the EDM world, Mr. Vega just keeps on with it by releasing his trap ep titled “Trap For The First Time”.  He describes his EP and the reason behind the name on his soundcloud, heres an excerpt from it;

‘Trap For The First Time is a title i chose as a play on Ludacris’s first industry album “Back For The First Time”. The album wasn’t his first but it was a reintroduction to the scene on a higher level. This EP isnt my first EP or my first attempt at “Trap” as i started making hip hop music 15 yrs ago and was semi-successful in that scene for years. Trap For The First Time is my reintroduction into this scene with the right people supporting the project.

The EP features my friend David Heartbreak on “Thai”, Otis Clapp, Kepstar, Dell Harris & KO-Lition on “I’m Livin’” and Jay Romance (my vocal alter-ego) on every track doing hooks and vocal cuts. I felt the one thing trap as a genre is missing is vocals to make them more songs instead of “hip hop instrumentals”. There’s a few people doing this but not enough, so i hope this project will push more people to follow suit.’

With support from top blogs like Mad Decent, TrapMusic.Net, The Dankles, Do Androids Dance + more, this EP is sure to make rounds and garner support from top DJ’s/Producers everywhere!  Soundcloud Link below + Video for Thai featuring David Heartbreak!

The R.O.A.R Feat Bella Saona – Epic Life (Chooky Remix) OUT NOW FOR FREE!

(The Following article is from our intern Christian Rokk who wrote this for Moomba+)

The team at Moomba+ is massively excited to bring you this latest Rot10 Musik freebie.   The folks at Rot10 have done as much as anyone to support the scene and have infused a sense of fun and creativity into their newest moombahton releases.  This is extra apparent in the tracks being released by The R.O.A.R.  A solo project of Steve Narvaez, the R.O.A.R. is making noise in the EDM community by infusing rock and roll and professional production standards in his electronic creations.  Just last month, he released his first solo EP, “Touchdown” via Rot10 Musik, and secured remixes from the likes of Mr. Vega, Aire Atlantica, Kid Cedek and the Worm.  Before that, we featured “Emotion 32″ on this blog which was remixed to ill effect by ChooKy.  The R.O.A.R. is for lack of a better term, starting to roar.

So that brings us to today and this “EPIC” release.  The R.O.A.R. has teamed up with longtime vocal partner, Bella Saona, to create the dance party anthem “Epic Life” and once again brought in ChooKy to add a little ‘Core/Jump Up flavor on the remix. And with a massive thanks to Rot10 Musik, we are able to bring it to you for free today.  Enjoy! (and show them how to lead an epic life)

The R.O.A.R – Touchdown TEASER + Write Up!

66362_409618459098112_197733726_nWritten By Christian Rokk

Lately I’ve made a point to write about things that are truly interesting in the moombahton world.   With all honesty,  larger blogs that cover a larger swath of genres have swooped in and now are able to entice moombahton artists to give them big exclusives, without having contributed to the movement or without any real understanding of it’s goals.   However, I’m not upset because moombahton doesn’t want a blog post, it wants the world. Today’s article is dedicated to two artists who are co-ordinating the worldwide takeover in their own, massively talented ways.

Steve Narvaez is one half of the talented indie group, The Fire and Reason. Both Steve and the lead singer for the Fire and Reason, Bella, have both provided lyrics for moombahton songs you are likely familiar with.  In their former lives however, they were really making some noise, winning awards like the NewNowNext “Brink of Fame” award which had previously gone to Lady Gaga (other nominees included Sam Sparrow, Lykke Li and LMFAO).  Larry T has done remixes for the Fire and Reason.  Are you starting to see why I am getting excited?

Well, that was then and this is now and Steve Narvaez is now working on a project called The R.O.A.R.  He first showed up on our radar at Moomba+ when we featured the massively infectious track entitled The R.O.A.R. “Emotion 32″ Chooky Remix.   Here is a link to that article. http://www.moombaplus.com/2012/12/11/the-r-o-a-r-emotion-32-chooky-remix-free-download/

The point of today’s article is to begin previewing The R.O.A.R.’s “Touchdown” release and do we have a treat for the Moomba+ readers.   This weekend, Steve and the incredibly talented videographer, Ellen Frances (www.ellenfrances.com), were on site shooting the video for “Touchdown” and we have an exclusive teaser for you.   Check T ROAR the Lion and get excited for this massive release on Rot10 Musik. I’m here to tell you your feet won’t touch the ground.
